Fighting Liberal Lies!

Why my blog is called “Fighting Liberal Lies.”

By Jim Hayett

An all too familiar trait I see with liberalism is that when they are presented with some tough questions like "why are we at war," they seem to get real ugly. Ask them "why do you hate America and our President" and all hell breaks loose! They follow up with lies and then smear you while going on a rampage so to direct your thoughts elsewhere. Well, maybe that works on the not too bright individual, but not with me.

It doesn't matter the content of the blog, liberals, at least on the LCR blog site, will bring up old issues like "impeach Bush," or, "war for oil." My best liberal lie is "Bush lied, people died." That one amuses the most. However, when you ask a liberal what they mean by this, the answers are numerous. But not one is accurate. Opinions and rhetoric, which is always allowed on my blog, is all we get. But what happens when you bring up this question (now a fact), "did it ever occur to you that Clinton (both Bill and the president), Kerry, Dean, Gore, and Pelosi, lied so people died?"  http://brianakira.wordpress.com/2008/02/03/clinton-kerry-gore-call-for-war-against-saddams-iraq/  Those real important facts are thrown under the bus. Why? Let me take a quote from Jack Nicholson: "You can't handle the truth." Liberals can't either.

When asked as to why we can't drill for oil, all we here is "oil spills will kill animals and the environment." But if you hate war so much, and you believe we are at war for Iraq's oil, why do you want Americans and innocent Iraqi's to die instead of a few birds and fish - and that's assuming there will be spills and damage to the environment. Why don't liberals fight to drill here in the U.S. so we don't have to go to the Middle-East to fight for oil? Millions of lives will be saved! I call that "hypocritical liberalism." And that's assuming an oil spill will take place after we drill! Here's a trivia question. Do you know what causes the greatest amount of oil spills in the world? What's the second and third most reason for oil spills? Hint: the top two are not from oil wells or drilling for oil as you would think.

WMD's. By far the most misunderstood of the liberal lies there is. "No WMD's were found so no war should continue."

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1601810/posts Again, it's completely useless to show a liberal the death and destruction of the Kurds and the Shiites by Saddam and his sons by using WMD's. Liberals still ignore that very important fact. The fact that created Resolution 1441 by the highly liberal, anti-American UN. Liberal bloggers still put up posts stating that over one million innocent Iraqi's are dead because of America. That liberal lie started with Rosie O'Donnell from the View. And we all know what happened there: not true and she was kicked off her OWN LIBERAL show. That's as bad as Dan Rather, Marilyn Mapes, and their bosses all getting canned from CBS for fraud and forgery over documents about Bush and his war record.

All these facts to disprove so many liberal lies are ignored and unanswered by the mainstream media. Why? A recent poll showed that 73% of the journalists are against the war. And to believe we will get fair, balanced and honest news from them? Only those that can't think for themselves believe that liberal lie. But liberals still continue to just plain old hate!

MC...as are the liberal lies. As long as liberals continue to lie and hurt our country, I will continue to point those people out and their hate filled rhetoric.

Where to begin.... We should not drill for oil because it will not reduce the price for oil, will harm our natural resoucees but most inmportanlty devert funds that should be spent on alternitive soucres of energy not oil. Also yes Bush did lie or he is just really stupid, we both know he is not stupid. The pentagon , CIA and NSA all accurately predicted the war in iraq, all pointed out that their was no link between Sadam and Osama, all warned of the perception of a occupying force, of looting and of a strong insurgency, he ignored all of these reports and installed an alternative research branch, ie the secretary of defense to produce a war game that would prove his theories correct.  By the way your right Sadam did have WMDS in the 80s and beginning of the 90s until he destroyed them under UN supervision. FYI the USA gave his the weapons and technology to make those WMDS so Iran would not become a supper power and align with the USSR. remember the other guys we helped to fight the USSR, Al quieda. so we should invade a sovereign nation that we supplied WMDS to 20 years ago because they posses oil and WMDS and are not playing our games for us any more, so where next, France, Spain, Russia, just asking where i should avoid.

It is great that you point out the lies of liberals, but you seem extremely hypocritical when the current administration has been shown to lie as well. Its hard to even call them Republicans when you look at how the administration has handled the economy.

Traditionally the GOP wants a smaller federal government which allows less burden of taxes to fall on the people. This administration has caused an increase in governmental size and spending. This could have been offset with reallocation of funds or a raise in taxes, but you can not have both an increase in governmental size and cut the taxes used to pay for them. This is exactly what this administration has done and we are paying for it economically.

I'm assuming that you are religious so I will leave with this. John 8:7. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

If you can not admit the wrongs of your party you have no right to point out the flaws of others. If you took the high road maybe you might gain some respect outside of your own close friends.

A former Republican.

Jim:  your goal should be to "Fight Lies", not "Fight Liberal Lies", just like mine is not "Fight Conservative Lies".  Lies come from many origins.  People of the Left and Right lie.  One side does not lie more than others.  That's like saying men lie more than women (okay, we probably do, bad example...).  That's like saying whites lie more than blacks, or Catholics lie more than Jews.  People lie, but people also tell the truth.  Lies can come from the Right and Left, and Truths can come from the Left and Right.

Dave…this debate with you is getting old. Show me the facts that Bush lied. Not just what someone on TV said? I have given you many videos and actual verbiage from Gore, Clinton, etc. stating the exact same reasons why we should go to war with Saddam. Bush does the deed and what do you liberal do? Here is the proof again. brianakira.wordpress.com/.../clinton-kerry-gore-call-for-war-against-saddams-iraq . So let me ask this question. The one Q I was hoping any clear thinking liberal (oxymoron perhaps) would come up with. If Bush lied, did Gore, Kerry, Clintons, Dean. Pelosi and all the others lie too? These democrats had the same evidence Clinton had and the same evidence BEFORE Bush was elected into office. How many times do I have to repeat this: Clinton, the man you voted for twice, made it White House policy to take out Saddam and free Iraq? The law is called Operation Iraqi Freedom. What do you think that means, David? WHY DO YOU LIBERALS KEEP IGNORING THIS FACT!!!

You are dead wrong on the WMD’s Saddam did NOT give up his WMD’s. That’s why I posted the above site from the Pentagon and why UN Resolution 1441 was NEVER followed by Saddam. David, where in heck do you get this information from?  Here is a story from Karen Hopkins during Clinton’s regime that few will ever know about.

Administration Publicly Threatens War, Privately Appeases Saddam

The resignation of a former U.S. Marine officer turned UN weapons inspector has underscored that President Clinton lied to the American people about one of his most important and highly publicized foreign policy initiatives.

In this case it was Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, not a former White House intern, who was Clinton's silent partner in deceiving the American people.

On August 26, Scott Ritter, the longest-serving United Nations weapons inspector in Iraq, resigned his position to protest the duplicitous policy of the Clinton Administration in publicly denouncing Saddam Hussein while behind the scenes blocking efforts to expose Iraq's program to develop weapons of mass destruction.

Victor…nice comment but correlating the name of my blog to your reasoning is not accurate. By blog is not named “Liberals lie more than Conservatives.” My blog is to get the many readers in the LCR area, who don’t diversify their political knowledge (heck, one blogger doesn’t even have cable or satellite), to see the other side that the mainstream media refuses to report. If those media outlets, like the NY Times that you read, had done their job, Rush, Ann, FOX News, etc. wouldn’t be enjoying the great success they currently are…..

July 30, 2008 8:12 AM

Jim Hayett

JH…thanks for the first time comment? Don’t recall reading one from you before. My response to you is mainly the same response to Victor (see above). The media doesn’t do their job. We have liberals, some who just hate the truth, blogging everyday. Sometimes three times a day, so you can get your fill there. Or, just watch or listen to CBS, NBC, ABC, NPR. Read the Milw. JS or most any main print in the US and you will get your hate filled rhetoric, and some facts too, about those that don’t agree with the liberal way. Have you read the new reports from those liberal news outlets in regards to the Republican Senator from Alaska? Made headline news everywhere. Remember Trent Lott when he was run out of town? At the same time the highly liberal senator Robert Byrd was found to be a member of the KKK some years back. Did Byrd recruit more KKK members? Did some of those KKK members kill or rape a black person? We will never know. But the mainstream media didn’t even sneeze over this. But they ran Trent Lott out of office. That’s why I can never go back to liberalism.

If you want to point out the problems with Conservative politicians, I will print your comments each and every time. I’m not a blogger that picks and chooses unless your words are not suitable for print.

Thanks for the comment. Very balanced and honest.

David...forgot to respond to your oil comment. There is no proof that drilling here will not reduce the price of oil. In fact, economics will prove, at least early on, that adding supply will actually decrease price.  However, assuming you are correct, why not drill so the myth that Bush went to war for oil will not be an issue going forward?

July 30, 2008 8:33 AM

jmark

Jim, your comment regarding Clinton as a silent partner with Saddam brought to mind the famous photo of Rummy shaking hands with evil-doer.

This from the National Security Archive:

Fear of Iraq Collapse in Iran-Iraq War Motivated Reagan Administration Support;

U.S. Goals Were Access to Oil, Projection of Power, and Protection of Allies;

Rumsfeld Failed to Raise Chemical Weapons Issue in Personal Meeting with Saddam

Hmmm. Access to oil?

July 30, 2008 8:58 AM

Jim Hayett

Jmark…hmmm, when was that taken? Hmmmm, what oil? Where is all the oil we went to war over so Bush and Cheney could use it for our consumption? Lesson #1 in economics 101: more supply than demand, lower prices. More demand than supply, higher prices. Which one do we have? I don’t see all that supply from Iraq that you liberal keep kicking and screaming about. Can you show me? Or is this more of the same old liberal lies?

July 30, 2008 9:32 AM

jmark

Yes Jim, those liberal lies were from the National Security Archives.

The truth: Saint Ronnie had a pact with the devil.

July 30, 2008 10:14 AM

Jim Hayett

Jmark…now that was funny. Good comment. However, which data came from the National Sec Archives? The same archives that Clinton’s pal, Sandy Berger, was caught stealing highly classified documents from so to save Clinton with the Iraq issue? The same Berger that Bush pardoned so the democrats didn’t look like a bigger bunch of liars than what they already have shown? That same Archive and that same Sandy Berger?

You still have not answered the question posed to you and the other liberals about the war for oil? “Where’s the oil?”

July 30, 2008 10:27 AM

J.H.

Jim-

I wasn't trying to convey that I am liberal, I am just trying to convey that with how complicated the nations problems are I find myself taking a moderates stance. It helps keep both sides in perspective.

For example, I was at a party a few weeks ago where a woman was screaming about how "going green" was a liberal way of forcing the idea of global warming on the public, and that she would have no part in going green or else it would contribute to those lies. The problem I have with such staunch hatred of liberalism is that it is blinding her from seeing the traditionally conservative side of going green when it comes to economics. Going "green" is both starting a very large private sector and also creating jobs. Regardless of belief on global warming, you can have a full functional vertical column wind turbine (they are under 8 feet tall) that can power the majority of your house and therefore help make yourself energy independent AND save money.

Economically it is a very smart thing to do.

Conversely I also cringe when liberals voice such staunch hatred for conservative views on the second amendment.

You have a very interesting column, and even if we disagree on certain aspects I applaud that you allow people to post their dissent.

July 30, 2008 7:18 PM

Jim Hayett

JH...I agree with this topic because we practice going green at home, at least to our ability. We talk amongst us as to how to conserve and help the environment from water usage to gas and electricity consumption. We also are looking at changing our vehicles so we can consume less oil products.

The issue about this woman is something that won't go away and I blame it on our liberal media. If you take the time and read the Times Best Seller, “Bias” by the liberal democrat, Bernard Goldberg, you will come up with the same conclusion that I have. Had this media done its job we wouldn’t have Rush, Ann, Michael, Sean, FOX, etc. having to dispute the liberal lies, or lack of reporting other side, when it comes to the news. We may be looking at a political civil war soon.

Since you made a comment about me Jim, I want to expand upon the statement I made earlier about not having cable tv.

While it's true I do not have cable, I do have the internet. I have youtube. I have Google news alerts (which allow for quick comparison from several sources). I have direct access to reporting from the AP, Ruetters, and government sources, as well as foreign news media. I have other news aggregators too.

I do not need to rely on one single monolithic news establishment.

Furthermore, instead of having my news read passively to me, I can re-read and re-read and fact check the reports and decide for myself. No need to sit in front of the tube and have O'Rielly or Hannity or Gibson or whoever interpret the days events to me. I can think for myself and try to discern the truth - as well as any reporting can accurately do so. I'm also free to revise my positions as new information becomes available. I am not ideology committed about the media either way.

Thank you for letting me clarify.

You may return back to the subject of the blog post.

MC...didn't I make my comment on your blog?

July 31, 2008 1:26 PM

You stated it to Victor on July 30, 2008 8:12 AM within this thread. You might have stated that on my blog too, but perhaps I'm wrong about that or just lying since I a liberal anyway.  //m

MC…I don’t recall ever saying all liberals lie all the time. Do you? Is your response a typical liberal response or do I need to move over to the “can’t you take a joke” crowd?

July 31, 2008 5:01 PM

mpicard

I'm making a rhetorical point Jim. (As in joking... duh.) Or do I need to move you over to the "can't take a joke crowd?" Oooohhh Tu Quoque!
