Obama’s pork spending vs. AIG: what’s worse?

By Jim Hayett

It's just a matter of weeks or months when Obama's approval rating falls to new lows. One of the fastest falls from grace on record. And Obama's handling of the AIG issue makes me wonder if this record setting fall may come sooner. However, those that voted for him are starting to see the real Obama and are becoming a very large group dissatisfied with his leadership. And don't say I didn't warn you.

It has been found that Obama and his staff knew well in advance about the AIG bonuses and tried to cover up their mistake through the highly entertaining and nationally televised "AIG court trial show." Very few liberals even know what I'm talking about because near zero reporting from the MSM.

OK, AIG is old news to a liberal (anything that hurts a democrat is old news after 24 hours. This is most notable especially in my many blog posts and the comments, or lack of, from our local liberals). Regardless, this news has been mostly ignored.

AIG received $175 billion of our money - yes, you and me and from all classes - but gave $165 million in bonuses to AIG execs. Correct? In trying to cover his butt, Obama has said that every little bit helps when trying to recover potentially corrupt money from one of the many bailouts approved by Obama and his regime. Any mathematicians out there? It looks like the $165 million is less than 1/10 of 1% of the $175 billion. The national outrage from the liberal MSM, Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Geithner, is so much fun to watch on TV. But I ask, where's the same outrage for the pork in Obama's stimulus and spending bills? What's worse, 8500 pieces of pork totaling billions and billions of dollars that the lying democrats promise would never happen if you voted for them or the 1/10 of 1% to AIG bonuses that Obama and his people knew and screwed up with in his pork bills? So let me ask Eric Holder this simple question. Are we a "nation of cowards," or a nation of political idiots?

No need to ask, again, why I left the liberal, democrat party. Just reread the above.

How Ironic...I just received this Gallup Poll report:

Americans are dissatisfied with the way AIG management (80%), Congress (65%), and Treasury Secretary Geithner (54%) have handled the AIG bonus matter. There is no public consensus that taxing the bonuses is the best of several options for recovering the money.

Still not a peep from Obama & Co. on the million dollars of bonuses going to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac executives.  Guess they have "selective outrage."  After all,  Fannie and Freddie gave huge sums to Democratics, so guess Obama & Co. have to remain mum on that.  And since Fannie and Freddie are liberal business extensions, guess they cannot be singled out for a reprimand.  One hand greases the other.  Shameful.

And remember how lefties always said Bush was shredding our Constitution?  An empty claim - with no proof - but they chanted it over and over enough so that some actually started to believe such nonsense.  Yet, Obama has ignored the Constitution when it comes to targeting individuals with a 90% tax - a direct violation which will be challenged if our government tries to pursue such a thing.  ALso, the power grab on control of the upcoming U.S. Census for 2010 is also considered not to be under the control of the White House.  There will also be a legal challenge to that little ploy.  And with Obama awarding ACORN to help out, it is frightening what can happen should that voter-registration fraud group control re-districting based on phony population counts.  As a nation, we need to say "stop!"  These blatant power grabs are getting out of hand, with no regard for the Constitution whatsoever.  Do Obama and his co-horts even know what they are doing?  What violations they are committing?  Or do they think they can get away with anything?

I agree that the outrage from Obama seems fake.  During his speech last night he mentioned how he liked to think about things before speaking, so he knew what he was talking about.  (Obviously he failed to do so when slandering the Special Olympics, but that is another issue.)  So he needed time to mull it over, and fake outrage was what he came up with.  Where is the fake outrage concerning the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae payouts to execs?

I am outraged at Obama.  Outraged that he is bankrupting our country, with the sole purpose of rebuilding it as a socialist or even communist nation.  How can a reasonable person reach the conclusion that in order to save money and reduce our budget, and debt to China, that we need to spend EVEN MORE than we have?  Printed money - which will soon be worthless.  Soon it won't matter if money in the bank is insured by the FDIC.  That money won't be worth anything.  Even if people decide to keep money in their mattresses, the value of the dollar will be so little that the money could just be used as mattress stuffing anyhow.

Face it, folks.  Obama tricked many of his most devoted followers, who thought he was a moderate.  Turns out he is a radical, extreme, leftie.  We got what we voted for - and we found out to late that it was a Trojan Horse.

Save America...great comment. Too bad the "intelligencia" in America aren't intelligent.

Here’s a great comment from David Boder.

"The size of the gamble that President Obama is taking every day is simply staggering... putting at risk the future well-being of the country and the Democratic Party's control of Washington. I've come to believe that the Obama crowd is naive to the point of stupidity. They are very intelligent, mind you...But intelligent people are often deeply stuck in their fix-the-world fantasies, which makes them idiot savants. These people have never accomplished anything but suckering the voters --- and each other... They seem to have no concept of the economy... making Monopoly money and forcing energy-using corporations to pay for it. They have no concept of productive investment compared to a wild spending spree on feel-good ideas, or on kickbacks to their buddies in Chicago . After all the "community organizer" hoo-hah they still learned nothing from the welfare fiasco that was inflicted on Black families by LBJ's War on Poverty, --- by way of family breakdown  helpless dependency, drugs, and gang warfare. They've just abolished Bill Clinton's version of welfare reform, which was forced upon him by the Gingrich Congress, and which has ended up really helping people, not hurting them. Conclusion: These folks are arrogant and ignorant. Intelligent, yes, articulate, yes, and utterly persuasive to millions of suckers, yes. But reality has a harsh way with fools."

jmark...no more of your childish garbage unless you stick to the post. Try to stop your kicking and screaming for a change. Will you please?

jmark...I answered your question on my other blog post, so now can you answer mine please? What do you say about Obama and his democrats like Dodd who changed the bill to allow AIG to receive these bonuses? How about Tres. Sec. Geithner also knowing about this as early as last year but denying this until his emails surfaced.

American citizen

I think the AIG bonuses and outrage over large payouts to executives of failing businesses is only a distraction from the real issues.  While too many people are focusing attention on something that is really very meaningless in the big scheme of things, Obama and the Democrats are running America into the ground with their spending.  They are also disregarding our Constitution in the process.  I love it how so many liberals claimed that Bush was trampling all over the Constitution (couldn't produce any examples, but it was a good sound bite.)  Obama is really ignoring our Constitution, and the Democrats are following right along.  90% taxes aimed at certain individuals is one example.  Having the White House take over control of the census is another.  Why aren't more people outraged over those actual facts?

March 27, 2009 3:07 PM

Jim Hayett

American Citizen...it's more than the White House taking over the census. It's the recently proven illegal and corrupt liberal, democrat voting machine, ACORN, that is mentioned to take over the consensus. They are in line for millions and or billions in pork money that Obama and his cronies are adding to our taxes through these so called spending and stimulus bills. Do you want your tax dollars to go to illegal organizations that are run and controlled by a liberal, democratic party? I don't know of any honest and true American that would agree to this. But it’s going to happen.

This is a classic example as to why I have been warning America as to our stupidity when it comes to thinking for one’s self and politics.

jmark...Jim 1, jmark 0. Here's the article that I copied for you to read and where it came from. Sorry if the truth hurts, but I don't think you care one bit about the truth. Obama doesn't so why should his worshipers.

jmark...I would publish your whining but your language is way to vulgar. Let me post this one more time. Notice the section that says, “David Broder - Liberal Journalist - The "Dean" of liberal pundits presiding at the Washington Post itself. Writes Mr. Broder;”

By the way, you still never answered by blog post. Why are you not up in arms for all the lies and the findings that Obama and his regime actually paved the way for the AIG bonuses but have now tried to cover this up? Maybe that’s why Obama is adding more distractions by moving more troops into Afghanistan. Care to tackle the blog post jmark? Who’s the stupid one here?

jmark...I will publish everyone of your rants if you please take out the many filthy and extremely vulgar swear words. Can't you liberals ever get your opinion across with either the truth or some resemblance of decency? God, thank you for leading me away from liberalism.

jmark...one little tidbit you forgot to mention but I will for you. Rightwing talk radio is NOT the msm. Too many unsuspecting Americans trust and expect our MSM to be their eyes and ears for world and political news. You most certainly follow their BS every day.

You also forget this truism: had your liberal and very bias msm done their job with honest and balanced reporting all these years, rightwing talk radio would not be needed. Would they? Would Bernard Goldberg have written “Bias” that turned into a Times bestseller? I doubt it. Care to tackle that one without your offensive language and pretentious display?

James,

You are a true warrior and thank you for standing up for me and Molly. jmark is the simplest form of the racist, closet Democrats who destroy our American values and our most wonderful way of life. Though not all life is fair, and we know all about that stuff, we need to make the most of it. Had God not come into our life and my church I don’t know who I could reach out to. Certainly not the material things, or Obama, as bad and hateful people like jmark do.

What’s one big separation between jmarks hate and my love for all? God. And I don’t use such hate and filth from my mouth into words. I don’t think brother jmark will ever answer those questions that show just how dumb he is. But he thinks you are me. Did I read into that from one of his comments?

Bill...yes that is correct. jmark thinks you are me. Go figure!! A little insecure I would say.
