Fighting Liberal Lies!

Obama, ACORN, and our own ignorance.

ACORN, which is probably the second most powerful reason for the financial collapse through their sit-ins and their unethical attacks on banks to force loans to those that don't qualify, is mired in more scandals. Beside the countless states who have brought lawsuits against this illegal liberal voting machine for voter fraud and voter registration fraud, ACORN's senior officials are now caught in a $1million embezzlement scandal. "So what" the liberals say? Not so fast. This illegal and anti-American hate machine received close to $1 million from the Obama's and now Obama wants to give ACORN billions of our taxpayer money. Why do you liberals sit on your butts and not join all of us with our outrage? This, by any standard, is wrong for America. Not to mention how ridiculous we look to our adversaries and even our allies.

@JIM:  Unregulated greed led to the financial collapse...among home-owners for easy money, among bankers for easy profit, among realtors for, well, being realtors (Hey realtors, if you believe in the free market, unencumbered by barriers, open the MLS to EVERYONE!) ...not ACORN.  I applaud all law enforcement efforts to rid us of fraud, so if ACORN did something wrong, pursue them.  But to state that sit-ins forced banks to give loans to those that don't qualify....that sounds a tad delusional.

Victor…you obviously read only the NY Times or the Milw JS. Here is a fact about ACORN and maybe you and I can keep on the main theme here: the corruption within ACORN and the Obama money given to this corrupt liberal organization. Don’t forget that Obama and our democrats also want to grow ACORN by giving them billions of our money.

“ACORN does many things under the umbrella of "community organizing." They agitate for higher minimum wages, attempt to thwart school reform, try to unionize welfare workers (i.e., those welfare recipients obliged to work in exchange for benefits) and organize voter registration efforts (always for Democrats of course).

ACORN recognized very early the opportunity presented by the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) of 1977. As Stanley Kurtz has reported, ACORN proudly touted "affirmative action" lending, and pressured banks to make subprime loans. Madeline Talbott, a Chicago ACORN leader, boasted of "dragging banks kicking and screaming" into dubious loans. And, as Sol Stern reported in City Journal, ACORN also found a remunerative niche as an "adviser" to banks seeking regulatory approval.

Because they are on the side of righteousness and justice, they aren't especially fastidious about their methods. In 2006, for example, ACORN registered 1,800 new voters in Washington State. The only trouble was, with the exception of six, all the names submitted were fake. The secretary of state called it the "worst case of election fraud in our state's history." As Fox News reported:

The ACORN workers told state investigators that they went to the Seattle public library, sat at a table and filled out the voter registration forms. They made up names, addresses and Social Security numbers and in some cases plucked names from the phone book. One worker said it was a lot of hard work making up all those names and another said he would sit at home, smoke marijuana and fill out the forms.

Full story is here but I printed ONLY the section where ACORN admitted to one of the many times they were caught with fraud. When one of ACORN’s leaders says, “we dragged banks kicking and screaming into giving dubious loans,” liberals still defend them or find no fault and agree to giving more of our taxpayers money to an illegal and corrupt organization. This is why we all need to get together and not allow Obama, Pelosi, and the other liberals to give one more penny of our money to this corrupt organization, which if you read, is now in a legal mess from the top officials embezzling money too. And wouldn’t our taxpayer money be better used for growing the 4 million new jobs Obama promised by 2010?

"ACORN, which is probably the second most powerful reason for the financial collapse" WOW....... how much Kool Aid do you drink? Number 2? Is that a joke? If you think thats right you in know way know what went on or whats going on. WOW.......

GWB2...than why don't you tell us how ACORN was not involved in this financial collapse since you seem to know so much. Why not put some of your liberal rhetoric to work and turn it not facts. Start with this statement from an ACORN leader: As Stanley Kurtz has reported, ACORN proudly touted "affirmative action" lending, and pressured banks to make subprime loans. Madeline Talbott, a Chicago ACORN leader, boasted of "dragging banks kicking and screaming" into dubious loans. And, as Sol Stern reported in City Journal, ACORN also found a remunerative niche as an "adviser" to banks seeking regulatory approval.

"Dragging and kicking banks into dubious loans." Love to hear your explanation on this one.

GWB2...let's play court of law. Here's some of the details surrounding the corruption with ACORN and then tell me they have nothing to do with the other illegal schemes like forcing banks to give loans to those that should had never qualified.

ACORN is once again under investigation in several states for voter registration fraud.  After the 2008 elections.  No surprise.

And ACORN is now the same organization that Barack Obama has picked to help carry out the U.S. Census duties.  Remember that the White House seized control of the 2010 U.S. Census - thereby allowing new districts and lines to be drawn up to aid in more democratic seats?  Say it ain't so!  I am sure that ACORN will do an honest job tallying populations in key voting areas that will help democrats in future elections.  Just like they do an honest job in signing up new voters - many times over and with creative new names!  It's can't get much better than this!

Jim i would love to break it down for you. But I can see from your blogs. That you are sick on kool aid and in no way understand what i would be talking about. You are so fast with the word liberal. Why? you dont know me. Its a word you just like to say when you dont know about something. Kool-aid back off it you have had way to much.

GWB2...that's as pathetic of an excuse I have ever heard. I would only expect that type of liberal lie from well, a liberal. But you say you are not.

You can't even debate these facts from ACORN who has been caught with voter fraud in 14 states and climbing and now is caught with strong-arming banks into giving loans to those that cannot afford one: The reason for the entire mess we are in. But what do you say in your response? Your not liberal!!! Only a liberal stands behind this illegal, corrupt democratic machine called ACORN. People who want truth, justice, and open transparency with what goes on in Washington are not liberals.

American Citizen...thanks for the reminder. Good point about the census change. However, I know this too has missed the MSM. Can't imagine why.

Jim Hayett

GWB2...let me make this easy on you. Since according to you I'm clueless about ACORN and our financial mess, would you be so kind and breakdown this comment from ACORN for me please? This one has to be easy for both of us.

Madeline Talbott, a Chicago ACORN leader, boasted of "dragging banks kicking and screaming" into dubious loans. And, as Sol Stern reported in City Journal, ACORN also found a remunerative niche as an "adviser" to banks seeking regulatory approval.

ACORN is also going to receive $140 million from Obama in stimulus funds.  Doesn't that sound questionable?

Since the 2008 election, investigations are being conducted in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Nevada, just to name a few states, where ACORN left its mark.

ACORN does nothing more than help stuff the ballot boxes in favor of Democrats.  Rather than paying them off, Obama should be going after them with the full force of the law.

Community Organization my a**.  An organization that promotes cheating is more appropriate.

How many loans did ACORN make the banks put out?

May 13, 2009 3:29 PM

Jim Hayett

GWB2...hey, I'm the dummy drinking Kool Aid and you are suppose to walk me through this. Why don't we start out with this statement again. Madeline Talbott, a Chicago ACORN leader, boasted of "dragging banks kicking and screaming" into dubious loans. And, as Sol Stern reported in City Journal, ACORN also found a remunerative niche as an "adviser" to banks seeking regulatory approval.

iusbvision.wordpress.com/.../obama-sued-citibank-under-cra-to-force-it-to-make-bad-loans

Here's what Obama said at an ACORN meeting. Never will this be in any MSM print or TV.

“I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.” — Barack Obama, Speech to ACORN, November 2007

Jim Hayett

American Citizen...I wonder how Obama figures this stimulus money to ACORN will create jobs. Too many voters have already forgotten that Obama promised that if we vote for him, he will create 4 million new jobs and by 2010. How will giving money to a corrupt and now found illegal organization like ACORN going to create 4 million new jobs? Anyone care to explain this one to me?

May 13, 2009 3:55 PM

referee33

I agree, no more money for ACORN, a community organizing identity, that obviously engages in illegal activities (?). Instead lets give more money in no bid contracts to Halliburton/KBR to build more showers that electrocute American GIs. A much better use of our money.

May 13, 2009 8:06 PM

GWB2

Ill take that as 0

May 14, 2009 12:31 PM

Jim Hayett

GWB2...as I said, you made the wisecrack that I don't know what I'm talking about. So to make this easy on everyone, why don't you find out what banks these dubious loans occurred at that ACORN admitted to "dragging banks while kicking and screaming into dubious loans." This can't be that difficult.

But what else do you have to say about the voter fraud with ACORN and the many, many, states that recently found ACORN guilty with voter fraud? Do you too think they should get our taxpayer money like Obama, Pelosi, and all the other democrats want for ACORN?

May 14, 2009 3:11 PM

Jim Hayett

Ref33...I agree. But ACORN was found to be guilty with voter fraud. And they do have competition. Big diff when compared to Haliburton and your comparison.
