A Town of Ottawa home was damaged this afternoon by a fire believed to have been caused by lightning that accompanied severe storms that swept through the area. Firefighters from several local departments responded, including Dousman, Delafield and Wales-Genesee.

About 18,000 We Energies customers in southeastern Wisconsin were without power Saturday night, and the area remains under a flash flood warning at this hour.

In Waukesha County, authorities said flash flooding swept across roadways, causing manhole covers to be dislodged and stalling cars after the rapid rainfall from the storm system.

"We've been dealing with some torrential downpours and some localized flooding," said Steve Pederson of the Waukesha County sheriff's department. "Everybody needs to drive very, very cautiously."

More storms are forecast tonight and into tomorrow.
