Oconomowoc Extravaganza moved to September

City of Oconomowoc - The annual Downtown Extravaganza in the City of Oconomowoc has been pushed back until Sept. 5-6.

The originally scheduled date was Aug. 9.

The move was made because the downtown Oconomowco road reconstruction contractor Dorner Inc. said they would not have the terrace areas between the sidewalks and the road paved with brick by Aug. 9, leaving a major "trip hazard" throughout downtown.

Crews have recently been focused on the roundabout at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Walnut Street in order to have the roundabout open for north/south traffic by the Aug. 16-17 Festival of the Arts.

The rescheduled extravaganza will be held in collaboration with the Sept. 5, Focus First Friday event, and the two occassions will be known as Maxwell Street Days.

The newly formed combo will go from 10a.m. to 9p.m. Friday Sept. 5, and from 10a.m. to 5p.m. Saturday Sept. 6.
