While the deadline to register for disaster help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency has been extended to Sept. 15, the state has already seen 36,648 registrations, said FEMA public information officer Tom Mullins.
In Wisconsin, $44 million dollars has been approved for housing assistance, $3 million dollars of which is in Waukesha County, Mullins said.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved $20 million dollars in loans statewide.
Residents affected by storms and flooding can register from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day to by calling 1-800-621-FEMA; individuals and business owners can also register for help online at www.fema.gov until the Sept. 15 deadline.
