Kettle Moraine - The school year is coming to a close, and so is the possibility of one Kettle Moraine School District principal.
Tanya Kotlowski, Kettle Moraine High School Principal, who recently said she is becoming more and more comfortable in her school community as a second year principal, is in the final running to fill the principal void at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids.
She is one of two finalists that were narrowed down from an initial pool of 47 applicants.
From the intitial field of applicants the board brought in seven applicants for interviews that took place last week by a committee of 28 people comprised of district employees, school staff, students, and parents.
Four of those applicants were brought back for a second interview, where the final two were then selected.
Running against Kotlowski is current Lincoln High School Associate Principal Ryan Christianson.
The final interview will take place before Wisconsin Rapids District School Board sometime in the next couple of weeks the district’s Human Resource specialist said.
The board will make their decision that night.
Last month Kotlowski was named the Wisconsin Association of School Councils (WASC) Senior High School State Administrator of Year for her work in the Kettle Moraine School District.
Before coming to the Kettle Moraine School District last school year, Kotlowski spent five years as an associate principal at Portage High School and six years teaching health classes at Adams-Friendship High School, a neighboring school district of Wisconsin Rapids School District.
