Two people were injured last night after losing control of their vehicle on Highway 164 and Denoon Road in the Town of Vernon.

At approximately 10:05 p.m. May 8, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, Village of Big Bend Police Department, Town of Waterford Police Department, Big Bend/Vernon Fire Department and Flight for Life, responded to the accident.

The vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 164 when the 24-year-old female lost control of the vehicle that went approximately 50 feet off the roadway and into a ditch partially flooded by water.  The driver was transported to Froedtert Hospital for a head injury.

The 29-year-old male passenger was ejected from the vehicle and trapped underneath.  He was transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital for head and leg injuries.

At this point, the names of the injured are not being released.

Alcohol may be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.
