City of Oconomowoc - The Wisconsin Avenue reconstruction will recommence Monday, April 21, announced officials of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Dorner Inc.

The news came during the weekly construction update meeting at the Community Center Wednesday morning.

To catch up on lost time, officials said there will be an acceleration of the work schedule meaning crews will work 15 to 16 hours a day on a seven day work week.

Expectations are to complete the stretch of road from Fowler Street to Main Street in time for the Festival of the Arts Aug. 16 and 17.

The remaining stretches of road will then follow.

The original completion date was scheduled for Sep.1 in most areas.

City of Oconomowoc - With road reconstruction under way on Wisconsin Avenue in Oconomowoc, downtown merchants look forward to the fourth installment of Focus First Friday beginning at 5p.m. this Friday, April 4.

This month's timely theme is "Tax Season," and the promotion will allow shoppers to purchase merchandise at specified participating businesses for a price that already includes the Wisconsin sales tax.

Each of these businesses will be marked with a yellow balloon or yellow sticker at the register or entranceway the night of the promotion.

The event will run until 9p.m. Friday evening and will include the end of the night raffle for $25 Downtown Oconomowoc Merchant Association (DOMA) dollars at Whelan's Coffee and Cream around 9:30p.m.
