Preparation makes for a relaxing camping trip!

Hello Outdoor Enthusiasts,

The rains have stopped, time for camping!

It doesn't matter if you camp in a campground or backpack into a remote wilderness area. If you are like most people, you get to the campsite and realize you forgot to pack something.  Depending on how far from civilization you are, and how long you will be there, it could make the trip difficult.

I found the following two equipment lists that should cover most peoples camping needs.

The first is from LoveTheOutdoors,com

The second, is from the Boy Scouts of America.  (After all their motto is Be Prepared)

Use these to compile your own list.

As I am gearing up, I print out my custom list and just cross out items I decide aren't needed for a particular trip, or check them off as they are packed.

A checklist before leaving will give you extra recreational time when you get to the campsite.

See you 'round the campfire

About Jeff Konkol

My name is Jeff Konkol and I'm a life-long resident of the Lake Country area of Waukesha County. I've been fishing since I could hold a cane pole, hunting since I took hunter safety at the age of 12, and spending as much time as possible outside since I could open the door by myself. I live for the seasons here in Wisconsin. Sun, Rain, Snow, Cold, I love it all. I hope to provide information on the outdoor lifestyle available in this area, and encourage young and old to live life in the open-air.
