Since I've been publishing on LCL for the past month the response so far has been tremendous. I just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone that has made publishing again a very satisfying experience. I really appreciate every compliment and encouraging word, and every criticism I have received regarding length of posts to even my tone. And I really would like to thank the kind folks at LCL in letting me homestead here. My intention was never to bring light reading, but to offer something different and more than a hit-and-run, badly-hacked and un-vetted cut-n-paste job. And of course, be confrontational if something was badly argued, or if an insult came my way. I hope that results have been instructive as well as entertaining for the reader as they have been for me.
The Hypatian Shore has so far come pretty close to what I had originally described in my conceptual and governing documents I wrote in the weeks before leading up to the publishing my first post. (If you like you can read it here.) I've not written as much stuff about science, religion and other woo that I wanted to, but have found other things of interest to opine about. Yet, there is still so much that I want to write about that it keeps me up at night sometimes.
In the weeks and months to come I hope to complete these essays on
• Why I am not a Christian. • Why I am a liberal. • Is it Patriotism? Or is it Bush-Nationalism? • Hearing Gods Voice? • The implausibility of a single ideological news media • Pet Psychics • The End of Cartesian Dualism • In Defense of Pride • Why I bash religion • Why there is no god • Why right wing radio rhetoric is still so 80's • Holy War: Monotheism vs. Paganism of Battlestar Galactica
And I hope to continue the regular features that I've developed.
Another thing I am interested is a podcast version of this blog. I will be developing the concept, but at first blush, I would like to have co-hosts. I'll keep you informed when I begin casting. Also be on the look out for a meet-up. I'll announce that too.
Again, thanks so much for your participation. It is greatly appreciated.
