Never Politically Correct! And Pointing Out Morons of Mass Destruction!

Barack's 57 United States of Obamaland

Don't tell me that there isn't a severe liberal bias in the media!

In 1992 Dan Quayle was pummeled in the media for misspelling "potatoe", and his candidacy was finished.  Media tells us that this candidate is too stupid to be president.

In 2008 Obama says that he has visited 57 states with one more to go, but it gets no mention by most media or at best it was buried in another story on the last page.  He reminds me of one of the intelligence challenged contestants on Jay Leno's "Jaywalking".  Where they ask people on the street some of the most basic questions, but their answers are comical, because of how lame these people are.

To see the video of Obama and his 57 states click here.

You can bet that if John McCain had made this same mistake, we would be hearing about it constantly for the next six months.  Comedians and media would have many jokes about it being a "senior moment", and his candidacy would be finished.

Maybe if Obama paid more attention to the flag, he would get a visual reminder to help him with the correct number of states that make up The United States of America.  Here is a picture of the flag lapel pin that Obama probably owns.

One week after his 57 states comment (That's right, most of us haven't even heard of this, but it has been over a week), Obama came on stage to a raucous crowd and said "Thank you, Sioux City".  The crowd went dead silent.  Why?  Because he was one state away in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and not Sioux City, Iowa.  Maybe in Obama's 57 states, parts of Iowa and South Dakota have been combined while other states have been split up, but citizens still don't dig it if you screw up the name of their city.

Why is it that the media can destroy a conservative candidate for being stupid, but "The Great Speaker", Obama, gets a pass while consistently showing his lack of intelligence on basic facts.  This is as fair and honest as NBA referee, Tim Donaghy, who bet on games that he officiated.

I wonder which candidate the media is backing?  Hmmm?  What the f***?

Ed...good point. I think the answer to your question is; our liberal, biased media?

Just like the mainstream media has totally ignored Obama's "Sweetie" response to a female reporter's questions, so too has this "57 states" reference been ignored.  In the eyes of the media, Obama can do no wrong, so they will not allow any of his mistakes, errors or general stupidity to make it into the news.  After all, he is their chosen one.

Its always "You can bet that if John McCain had made this same mistake, we would be hearing about it constantly for the next six months." "After all, he is their chosen one." I think they want McCain

Really?

This is your best argument for John McCain for President of the United States?

No Jeff...it's one of many!

Shoe Guy...you didn't take my advice and read "Bias." This factual book will change your mind about the media and you will be embarrassed as to how much you trusted the Cronkite’s and Rather's of the world. They were supposed to be your eyes and ears to the world. Not so we find out.

Has anyone told Obama that there are not 57 states in the United States?  If not, he may think there are more primaries coming up that Hillary could win.  Maybe that is why he stated today that he is not ready to declare himself the Democratic nominee yet!  He thinks he has a lot more states to try to win than actually exist!

Jeff:  The argument is how the media reports, or doesn't report depending on what furthers their causes.  Unless a candidate is from Idaho, I could care less if they can spell "potato", but the media used it to purposely put a negative light on the candidate they were against.  I don't believe Obama really thinks there are more than 50 states, but why is his saying that he has "visited 57 with one more to go" any less important to report.  Answer:  because it would put a negative light on their candidate.

Ed...keep up the fight. The best way to let the liberal press realize how much they are ruining this country is to stop buying or reading their papers. TV too. I gave the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel a great idea when they were concerned as to how much their subscriptions have fallen over the years (along with their stock value). The idea was to become more fair and balanced. I even told them to start a separate section that counters their daily liberal baloney that permeates this paper. I also suggested that the JS could get more advertisement (I wonder how much they lost in that department too!) from businesses in conservative counties. I was told my idea sucked by the top brass at the paper. That was over a year ago. Go take a peek and see where their stock value has gone. Subscriptions are very poor also. They blame it all on the internet. The internet doesn’t seem to effect the media outlets like Fox News or conservative talk radio, does it.

You are absolutely right Ed. Since this is an election year, I've been tracking the bias in the Houston Chronicle all year.  Please read the comments on my website for 6/21 and 6/22/2008 regarding the "57 states" comment; www.chronicleofbias.com/.../Default.aspx
