Balancing The Tickets? It's No Contest

By Ed Furey

John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his VP candidate to help provide balance to the Republican ticket.  She brings with her a more conservative background as well as youth.  The amazing thing is that in Sarah Palin's and Barack Obama's relatively short political careers, the Republican VP candidate has accomplished so much more than the Democratic Presidential candidate.

Barack Obama chose Joe Biden as his VP candidate, thus admitting that he severely lacked any foreign relations experience.  Joe Biden brings that to the Democratic ticket along with experience and accomplishments that are non-existent by the Democratic Presidential nominee.

What does Joe Biden think of his running mate?  Just a few months ago he stated that Barack Obama is not ready to lead.

While John McCain and Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket are a slam dunk winner over their competition, Barack Obama will do well next year on the Speaking circuit.  After all, that's the one and only thing that he does well.

Great post, Ed.  Liberals out just cannot bring themselves to admit that Obama is not qualified to lead our country.  I have not heard one factual example of anything Obama has done that would suggest he could be the President.  On other posts I've written where I've asked why people believe Obama could lead, I've gotten responses such as "he's black", "he's a poet", "he talks well" and "he's not Bush".  Wow - with qualifications like that, he'll make a great leader! (- that's a sarcasm for you lefties out there....)

Yet liberals are saying that the Republican VP doesn't have any experience???  I'd laugh out loud if the stakes weren't so high.

Sarah Palin what a joke! Sarah in No way is qualified to be VP. She doesnt even know what the job is! Can someone tell her? I'm laughing out loud so hard right now! Out of all the people in the world why would he go with her? Why?

Obama is an empty suit. If he took his "experience" to someone to write his resume, they would be hard pressed to find anything he's done.

One measure of a person are people who know you and will articulate what you've done. I don't see anyone doing this for Obama. No one that was a student with him, worked with him has come forward. That should tell you something.

Any gal who got up at 3am in the cold of Alaska with her father to go moose hunting and can field strip a hunting rifle has got my vote. These two things alone are more that Obama can lay claim to.

Another thing she has done, she has gotten middle America up out of their easy chairs. In a rally scheduled for O'Fallon, MO on Sunday Aug 31 the GOP has requests for 125% more tickets to a sold out event.

Talking about sold out events when Obama spoke in Berlin in front of a crowd of 200,000 (or some such number) they had the two most popular German rock bands play at the venue, for free. One played before his speech and one after-so much for Obama's popularity in Europe.

Ed, I think I read that Obama lost his lead with women voters even before McCain announced Palin. So I'm confused as to why. And why do liberals now say they can't even think of voting for McCain because of his VP lack of experience. Isn’t Obama the most inexperienced candidate on record?  And may I ask those liberals who keep bashing anything that comes from McCain? Who runs the country anyway? Not a VP.

Ed, Amy, & now Card1 -

Gov. Palin is a bone and you guys are the dog. Keep on salivating, becuase Mccain is using her as a 2 trick pony. 1) energize the base 2) get media attention.

She has some good points like her politial reforms in Alaska and she stood to the republicans in her own state against there corruption, instead of blindly defending them for obvious crimes (same can't be said for people on LCL blogs). Shouldn't that put her in the same camp as Mccain, standing up agasint her own party. Maybe she's a closeted democrat as well, she is a maverick after all.

This is very long Legislative and Federal Accomplishments by Obama. I'm just going to have to repost this everytime I keep hearing this OBAMA has no experience babble that you guys keep spouting from your echo chamber rightwing media talking points:

--------------------------------------

COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS: Obama holds assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Veterans' Affairs, and he is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. ------------------------- As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks. Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya. Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D–WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act", which was signed into law in September 2007. He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections. Obama also introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act", a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008. Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs. joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill. Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries. After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said "shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans." en.wikipedia.org/.../Barack_Obama THESE ARE BARACK'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE U.S. SENATE TO DATE: ** First legislation, the HOPE Act, which increased Pell Grants to $5100, and later joined Senator Kennedy on the Higher Education legislation that passed July 20, by a vote of 78-18. Libby Ham:  The list is impressive.  But whittle it down to what has actually been accomplished.  Empty.  Sarah Palin actually has leadership experience.  Obama couldn't even lead a scout troop.

Shoe Guy…I’m laughing out loud at you!! Obama has little if no experience. And isn’t the president the one who runs the country? If you won’t vote for McCain because of Palins inexperience. How the heck can you vote for Obama. HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE. Don’t you know that?

LH…none your data shows any accomplishment for a senator who wants to run for president. Even your liberal democratic party knows he is too wet behind the ears. Even some MSM too. Most of what your data proves is just basic senator work. Not one bill Obama sponsored. In fact, he barely votes and when he does, he is voted as the most liberal senator in Washington. And to make you data even more off base, Obama was chairman for only one committee and he NEVER had a meeting. As Senator Hillary Clinton said a few months ago, “the only thing Obama has done since becoming a Senator just two years ago is run for President.” And that statement from Hillary whom the majority voted for in the primary.

LH…how come his own friends and Senators don’t even know his own accomplishments???

Lh…lets take a close look at the “super Obama accomplishments”

“To ensure the protection of military and civilian personnel in the Department of Defense from an influenza pandemic” WOW a biggy!

“Expressing the sense of the Senate that the Federal Emergency Management Agency should immediately address issues relating to no-bid contracting” Another beauty!

“To expand the prohibition on lobbying in the year after leaving service to the Senate to include a prohibition on paid coordination activities.” Incredible. Got me thinking on that one!

LH, this one absolutely makes him a worthy and experienced candidate to run America. “To establish a program to develop Fischer-Tropsch transportation fuels from Illinois basin coal.

Jim - Wow, got you on this one, really pissed you off, would you like me to repeat it again.

I like how you not picked things.

I don't see how you rightwing hypocrites can laud Palin's lack of experience and at the same time wack Obama with the in-experience label.

It's like I want to use these over used cliche's, "Are you calling the kettle black.

Jim - And you rightwingers have to stop using Hillary, a women you rightwingers hate more than any other female on this planet.

 It's  really pathetic.

Ed, You say that you don't take everything seriously but then why are you seriously putting Obama and Biden down just becuase you are ovbiously a republican. I like they way you seem to be argueing both sides of the issue but you heavly put Obama and Biden at the other end of the string. You say the factors of Palin that comment on McCain's lack of structures but when it comes to Biden you say that it's Obama's fault that Biden has greater skills than he does in certain areas. If everyone had perfect strengths in every issue we wouldn't have a 8 year term. We would just have a election for a young president that does everything right. Do you feel that we should be in the war in Irag? because McCain and Palin do feel that way. Palin is pro abstinence but she can't even keep her own child from getting pregnant. This is a horrible article for you to write.
