College of Cardinals To Select World Leaders

Talk about your Super Delegates!

Pope Benedict XVI visited the US for the last week and what an impact he had.  Not just on the US Catholic Church, but on the US as a whole.  He visited a NYC Jewish Synagogue, demonstrating how far we have come in bridging the gap between religious faiths.  He stopped at Ground Zero to comfort survivors and heros of the 9/11 terrorist attack.  He met privately with victims of the Priest Sex Scandal and made public acknowledgment of the scandal a central theme of his visit.  He talked about how "deeply ashamed" he was for the scandal and admitted that it had been very badly handled.

The Pope received rock star receptions wherever he went.  This for a man that was thought to be a weak replacement for Pope John Paul II.  Pope Benedict XVI was supposed to be a disciplinarian, old school and hard line.  He came across as extremely intelligent, warm, friendly, forgiving.

The Pope is elected by the College of Cardinals.  They could not have possibly made better choices than with the last two Popes.

Their ability to select great leaders is something that all countries could use some help and guidance with.
