    AHS vs. property values

Is the benefit of an Arrowhead High School education worth the premium homeowners pay for real estate?

NO!  The AHS school system is geared to give the best education possible to the elite athlete, the talented musician/performer and the National Honor Society student while providing at best a cookie cutter type of education for the rest of the student body.  Our high taxes benefit a chosen few while the majority suffers.  I'm glad that my children are finally out of AHS and I truly hope that my grandchildren will never have to attend such a biased education system.

I agree with Referee33.  My wife and I attended Arrowhead in another era and it certainly is not the school we enjoyed.  I have three kids there and they can't wait to get out.  How sad of a statement is that?  High school should be one of the most memorable times of your life and it won't be for them.

One of my boys plays football.  The head coach has an ego that just doesn't quit (do you understand?).  His whole parent meeting was about buying the ring and clothing.  Then the varsity moms told us that we get to pay $100 so our kids can eat spaghetti before every home game.  The coach even sponsored a "camp" for $85, but the letter said that key plays would be learned so all should attend.  To me that sounds like bribery...come to camp and pay or you won't play.

The good athlete doesn't stand a chance.  You have to be great.

Academics?  Nothing more special than any other area high school nowadays.  Twenty five years ago, they were ahead of the game, but not anymore.  A lot of the teachers have caught the arrogant Arrowhead attitude...try sending a voice or email and good luck getting an answer.

Boy, do I sound bitter...but the word I choose to use is horribly disappointed.
